Description:
This project demonstrates the installation, configuration, validation, and troubleshooting of a Windows 11 operating system in a virtualized home lab environment. The objective was to simulate a real-world deployment scenario while applying system administration best practices including OS installation, security validation, update management, and troubleshooting techniques.

- Installing and configuring Windows 11 in a virtual lab environment using Oracle VirtualBox.
- Performing post-installation configuration including regional settings, Microsoft account setup, and system personalization.
- Verifying OS installation details including edition, version and build information
- Inspecting hardware drivers using Device Manager to confirm successful driver installation.
- Reviewing Windows Security Dashboard to validate antivirus, firewall, and device security configurations.
- Accessing Advanced Startup options to validate recovery tools including Safe Mode and Startup Repair.

Creating & Managing User Accounts, Passwords and Group Policies in Active Directory

- Creating and managing user accounts in Active Directory Users and Computers (ADUC), including account creation, password resets, and enforcing “change password at next logon” policies.
- Organising users using Organizational Units (OUs) for IT, HR, and Marketing departments to support structured user management.
- Resolving common helpdesk tickets such as locked accounts, forgotten passwords, and access-related issues.
- Managing security group membership to control access to shared resources following least privilege principles.
- Diagnosing login and permission issues by modifying group memberships.
