Description:

This project demonstrates the installation, configuration, validation, and troubleshooting of a Windows 11 operating system in a virtualized home lab environment. The objective was to simulate a real-world deployment scenario while applying system administration best practices including OS installation, security validation, update management, and troubleshooting techniques.

  • Performing post-installation configuration including regional settings, Microsoft account setup, and system personalization.
  • Verifying OS installation details including edition, version and build information

Creating & Managing User Accounts, Passwords and Group Policies in Active Directory

Description:

  • Installing and configuring Active Directory Domain Services on Windows Server and exploring the Active Directory structure.
  • Creating and managing user accounts in Active Directory Users and Computers (ADUC), including account creation, password resets, and enforcing “change password at next logon” policies.
  • Organising users using Organizational Units (OUs) for IT, HR, and Marketing departments to support structured user management.
  • Resolving common helpdesk tickets such as locked accounts, forgotten passwords, and access-related issues.
  • Managing security group membership to control access to shared resources following least privilege principles.
